Overview
In a constantly changing world, the training skills required by individuals often change and need to be updated to meet the demands of the business. Few people within organisations have the skills necessary to deliver high quality in house training due to their own demanding roles and responsibilities. On this 4 day highly interactive FETAC Course we look at identifying the training needs right through to showing you how to evaluate a specific training programme. This course will enhance the skills of existing trainers and will be a great introduction to the newcomer.
Aims
To understand the different learning styles and how to work effectively with a range of learner groups. To assess, design, deliver and evaluate a variety of training programmes and also to understand the functions and processes of different learning and training programmes.

Course Content
Theory of Training and Adult Learning
Learners will be able to:
- Identify the prerequisites for effective communication in groups
- Demonstrate an understanding of group dynamics
- Explain key principles and methodologies which underpin adult learning
- Evaluate the approaches of different adult learning theorists
- Demonstrate an understanding of group dynamics
The Role of the Trainer
Learners will be able to:
- Demonstrate good training practice
- Deal with discriminatory attitudes and behaviours
- Describe different learning styles and training styles
- Identify personal training and development needs
Training Needs Analysis & Programme Design
Learners will be able to:
- Identify different job roles and behaviours within those jobs
- Identify training needs
- Analyse training needs
- Compile a list of learning and performance objectives
- Justify how learning objectives can be used to evaluate training
- Design learning programmes relevant to the identified needs
- Ensure the programme conforms to the requirement of certification bodies
Preparing for Training Delivery
Learners will be able to:
- Plan the delivery of a training session
- Prepare appropriate training methods for each element of the training session
- Produces exercises for use within a training session
- Prepare visual aids for the training session
Delivery and Assessment
Learners will be able to:
- Establish, promote and maintain a positive learning culture
- Use a variety of relevant training strategies
- Demonstrate effective listening and feedback skills
- Evaluate progress on an on-going basis
- Assess Learners achievement of training objectives
- Critically evaluate a range of assessment techniques
- Provide effective feedback on learner progress
FETAC Assessment
Participants who wish to achieve a FETAC Certificate must complete an assignment which will count for 25% of the overall marks and a Skills Demonstration that will count for 75% of the marks.

Pass 50-64%
Merit 65-79%
Distinction 80-100%
