Minister Burton Launches the Advantage Programme, Positive2Work Skillnet’s Programme for Job Seekers

Positive2Work Skillnet, in partnership with Tesco Ireland and the Department of Social Protection, recently launched the pilot of the Advantage Programme in Cabra library, Dublin.  This is an exciting new collaboration targeting twenty job seekers between the ages of 18-25.  This six week programme will provide job seekers with the opportunity to upskill by achieving four FETAC Level 4 modules in Retail Skills, along with a work placement within Tesco Ireland, one of Ireland’s leading employers. The title ‘Advantage Programme’ focuses on the key aim of the programme - to give learners an immediate edge when it comes to job opportunities in the retail sector, by providing highly practical and relevant transferable experience. The unique combination of work placement and classroom activities is an ideal platform for learners to develop and prepare themselves for life in a busy, retail environment.

This Job Seeker Support Programme (JSSP) is funded by the Department of Education and Skills.
